Camden Council are consulting about the future use of the O2 shopping centre and car park site on Finchley Road. It’s a draft of criteria they will use to assess any future planning applications. The consultation is here.
Sadly they’ve given local residents only until 6th April to comment. We know public meetings or exhibitions aren’t possible, but they aren’t offering any online consultation sessions either, and they aren’t writing to residents who’ll be most affected. So residents have less than six weeks to comment on a huge development, which will affect the local area for years to come, while we’re all still in lockdown. If you think the Council should be doing more to listen to residents sign the petition below.
We the undersigned are calling on Camden Council to:
- Extend the consultation deadline to the middle of May, and to plan exhibitions in the local libraries and community centres from 12th April.
- Expand who the Council is talking to by holding public online consultation sessions and by writing to the residents most affected.
- Engage young people in what their future neighbourhood will look like.
And if you think the Council should be doing more to listen to residents, sign the petition to extend the consultation.
