O2 Centre Development latest: Lib Dems call for station overhaul

The O2 Centre redevelopment is set to have a major impact on our community, with thousands of new homes proposed.

Liberal Democrat campaigner Nancy Jirira has set out a three point plan on what we need to see from the development.

  1. Improve West Hampstead tube station, including a lift and ramps to help families with pushchairs and those with mobility issues. Nancy Jirira and Flick Rea have been talking to the Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee to bang heads together and make this happen.
  2. Insist on meeting Camden Council’s target of 50% affordable housing - and make it genuinely affordable for young people who want to make their home here. West Hampstead needs mixed communities not exclusive developments.
  3. Include new local services for all parts of our community: outdoor spaces for children and young people to play and a new health centre to tackle long waiting times in Camden.
