How you can help Ukraine

Camden Liberal Democrat campaigners have written to the CNJ to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who are experiencing unspeakable heartache right now.

Letter sent by Cllr Nancy Jirira, David Elkan, Janet Grauberg, Matthew Kirk and Tracey Shackle

In a letter to the Camden New Journal, local Liberal Democrat campaigners have expressed solidarity with Ukrainians fleeing their homeland and have shared ways in which Camden residents can help.

Further details on how people can help, can be found here: https://londonplus.org/news/support-for-ukraine-crisis-london

The Liberal Democrats have also organised the following petition: https://change.libdems.org.uk/ukraine

The petition calls on the Government to commit to:

  • An ambitious commitment to resettle Ukrainian refugees in the UK
  • Scrapping the law that criminalises Ukrainian refugees coming here to claim asylum
  • A five-year funding package for every person a local council resettles

The unfolding tragedy in Ukraine will have lasting consequences for so many. It is our duty to do all we can to help.
