Action on Air Quality

Poor air quality causes 40,000 premature deaths in the UK, more than 9,500 in London alone, and Camden is an area that is particularly at risk.
Tackling air pollution requires action at national and local levels. Camden Liberal Democrats are calling on London’s Mayor to work with local councils to

  1. increase monitoring of air pollution where there are vulnerable people, such as outside schools and the Royal Free Hospital
  2. make it easier for residents to switch to less-polluting transport such as electric cars, by enabling more charging points
  3. raise with national Government the impact of national policy on the lives and health of Camden residents.
