South End Green Streatery

Camden Council is considering a proposal in South End Green to set up a dining area on the slip-road between Pond Street and South End Road. This is similar to the "Streatery" already established in neighbouring Belsize Village.

Responses from local community groups and businesses have been largely positive so far. As local Liberal Democrat campaigners, we think the Streatery would add vibrancy to South End Green and boost footfall for the local area’s businesses. It will also give residents the opportunity to enjoy a drink or meal outdoors over the summer at a time when travel further afield may be difficult.

Under these plans, the Streatery will run Monday to Sunday from 11am until 10pm. The no. 168 bus will no longer stand in the slip-road and will instead stand in Fleet Road. This is a welcome change which many local residents have been pushing for. In addition, parking bays outside shops from Pond Street to Keats Grove will be suspended.
