I Left Derbyshire at the age of 19 and came to Belsize in 1960 and have lived here ever since - why change if you've found the perfect spot!
My child, Nick was born here and was educated at Gospel Oak, Haverstock School and later William Ellis. Nicki transitioned in Canada where she is now a respected advocate in the trans community. She works as a commercial and creative writer and designer. I’m proud to say she has inherited my commitment to public service and she is currently running for political office in Toronto.
Most of my working life has been spent as a marketing researcher. I'm Now semi-retired and run a marketing consultancy, Thinks Research. It is active in community issues and I'm also a co-founder of the Hampstead Summer Festival. My special area of interest is the annual Art Fair Day. I am a member of the Camden Older people Advisory Group and was part of the team that won Lottery Funding for Ageing Better in Camden.
In 1981 I left the Labour party for the breakaway Social Democratic Party and was Secretary and Chair of Camden SDP, and have continued as an active member of Camden Lib Dems ever since.
I was a Parliamentary Agent for Anne Sofer, Hampstead and Highgate in the 1983 General Election and was the campaign director for Greater London in the first European Parliamentary Election the Lib Dem Alliance fought in 1984.
I stood for Belsize (where I live) in the Camden Council Elections of 2010 and for Fitzjohns and Frognal Ward in 2014 and again this time in 2018.
